The BSZ provides IT-supported services for academic libraries, museums, and archives, particularly in Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, and Saarland.
We are looking for a dedicated IT specialist in the field of discovery systems. The task is to support the introduction of the BOSS discovery system for the FOLIO library management system and to carry out preparatory work for replacing the OPAC solutions used to date.
You will work in a dedicated team and in close coordination with the department management.

Areas of responsibility
Your tasks
* Coordination, further development, and connection of interfaces between FOLIO, indexing services, and BOSS/VuFind
* Concept development and preparation for the replacement of OPAC solutions
* Adaptation and further development of the BOSS discovery system based on the open-source software VuFind as part of a team
* Automation of processes (especially in the areas of administration and rollout)
* Collaboration with internal departments and external project and cooperation partners.
Requirements profile
Your profile
* Completed university degree in computer science or a comparable academic degree.
* Experience in the development and administration of web applications (PHP, Javascript, PostgreSQL)
* Experience with discovery or indexing solutions (VuFind, SOLR) is an advantage
* Knowledge of modern administration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage
* Willingness to learn library standards and systems
* Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work
* Good teamwork and communication skills
