WHAT YOU’LL DOThe Fabrication Manager collaborates with the customer to understand project scope, budget, contract goals and deliverables related to fabrication. This role is mainly responsible for performing fabrication tasks, training fabrication technicians and reviewing the work of shop personnel. This role will lead a team of 3 – 6 direct reports and will cooperate closely within the operations department and with the installation team. Responsibilities: Facility and Personnel Management: Oversee the fabrication shop and manage staff, ensuring safety, efficiency, and proper training. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and evaluate technician performance.Technical Expertise and Documentation Interpretation: Interpret engineering schematics and technical documents to ensure accurate fabrication, collaborating closely with engineers to clarify design details.Project Budget and Deliverables Management: Manage fabrication budgets, track costs, and ensure all fabrication deliverables are met on time and within the budget, time and quality, adjusting plans as needed.Task Assignment and Scheduling: Assign fabrication tasks to shop and field technicians, coordinate schedules, and ensure project milestones are met while maintaining quality standards.Procurement and Resource Management: Oversee procurement of materials and tools, ensuring correct specifications. Assess staffing needs and aid in hiring new personnel when needed.Quality Control, Testing, and Site Support: Monitor fabrication quality, assist with testing and commissioning, and ensure our standards are met and issues are resolved as needed. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOREducation and Technical Background: Successfully completed Master Craftsman qualification as an Electrical Master or Technician (“Meister Elektrotechnik”), or an equivalent qualification in accordance with the German Trade Regulation Act (e.g., “staatlich anerkannter Techniker” or “Diplom Elektrotechniker”). Industry knowledge and experience: Proven experience in planning, implementing, and supervising the activities of an installation team in the ProAV industry. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations, directives, and standards.Fabrication and Industry Experience: 5–6 years of fabrication experience required, along with hands-on work supporting audio-visual systems in environments such as corporate, entertainment, hospitality, government, education, or retail.Leadership and Management Skills: Proven management experience in a fabrication or customer service environment, with the ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, collaborate effectively, and maintain productive working relationships.Technical Software Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Brady Label software, with the ability to produce and interpret documentation needed for fabrication tasks.Communication and Organizational Strengths: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and capability to manage multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and deadlines with attention to detail.Independence, Professionalism, and Compliance: Self-motivated and able to work independently while maintaining professionalism. Must show solid time-management skills and hold a valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record that meets company standards.
