Want to influence sales growth in an industry considered to be one of the most complex in the world?

PEER Group’s Sales Team has an opportunity for an Applications Engineering (Intermediate). In this role, you will be collaborating with customers to identify their needs and working with our Sales, Engineering, and Finance teams to propose software solutions that meet those needs.

Your role bridges the gap between Sales and Engineering — involving everything from sales calls and technology research to writing lots of proposals. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Sales, (based out of our Canadian Headquarters in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada) you will be a key contributor on a high-performance global team targeting accounts in the Semiconductor industry. This role is in support of our OEM portfolio of accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Lead customer discussions, gather information, and write proposals (e.g., Design wins, Support contracts, Product delivery) that reflect PEER products and customer needs.
* Identify and craft custom solutions, educating customers on the value proposition.
* Collaborate closely with internal departments to provide tailored solutions and exceptional customer service.
* Prepare compelling technical presentations, deliver product demonstrations, and support proposals to potential and existing clients.
* Provide the Engineering team with information regarding quotes and change orders to facilitate project execution.
* Work with customers post-sale and during installation to understand requirements for change orders based on the delivered solution and specific needs.
* Align with Finance and Engineering to process Purchase Orders (PO) for custom solutions.
* Participate in business development activities such as attending tradeshows and customer calls.
* Stay abreast of PEER product knowledge, understand customer technical challenges, and integration between hardware and software systems.
* Develop knowledge of the semiconductor industry and competitors’ products, including related technology research.
* Regularly evaluate inputs, customer requests, and Sales team processes to drive continuous improvement.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* Native/Advanced-level German language skills (spoken, written, reading & comprehension)
* Advanced-level English language skills (spoken, written, reading & comprehension)
* Post-secondary degree in Software Engineering or related fields such as Systems Design, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science. Diploma programs like Computer Programming will also be considered.
* 3 – 5 years of work experience serving enterprise customers with software product and development solutions.
* 3 years of work experience in software engineering, preferably with software development or related fields like equipment/software automation or industrial controls.
* High adaptability, able to navigate unplanned direction changes and balance competing priorities with a record of on-time delivery.
* Occasional travel required, primarily North America.
* Proficiency with MS Office 365 Suite, especially Excel, and also Salesforce.
* Strong technical writing skills tailored to various audiences, with keen attention to detail.
* Knowledge of software architecture and development fundamentals.
* Engaging and persuasive presentation skills.
* Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills. You will work closely with our Germany-based OEM team members, which includes an OEM Account Manager and our L2 Support team member, as well as working with our Canada-based sales and engineering teams as needed.
* Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and compellingly to customers.
* Knowledge of SEMI software and/or hardware standards is an asset.

Nice to Haves

* Experience in business development
* Proficiency in using software development languages such as C#, C++, Java, Python, etc.
* Understanding of Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) and contract administration processes.
