Our Scientific Instruments Maintenance team is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the scientific equipment in EMBL Heidelberg Laboratories. Your role We are looking for a Scientific Instruments Maintenance Technician who will join a team in charge of repairing, calibrating and maintaining a full range of modern biology laboratory instrumentations including incubators, centrifuges, power supplies, optical microscopes, liquid handling robotics, etc. These maintenance services range from simple interventions to locate and replace the faulty parts to the exchange of entire parts of an instrument. The team also serves as a qualified interface to the manufacturers or distributors of scientific equipment in cases where the device needs to be sent back for reconditioning or complete overhaul. You have Due to the broad range of scientific equipment involved in the job, as our ideal candidate, you will need a solid technical background in electronics and mechanical engineering. You should possess a strong working knowledge of modern software tools in particular MS and SAP office applications. You should also have excellent communications skills, fluency in German and a good working knowledge of English are essential and the ability to work in a team in an international atmosphere. You may also have Experience in servicing of analytical devices used in research laboratory will be highly appreciated.
