The Sr. Accountant leads and mentors the accounting assistant to perform the necessary accounting functions to maintain accurate and timely accounting records. This resource drives continuous improvement of processes, reporting, and financial tools to enhance financial management.
Job Function Responsibilities
* Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.
* Prepare journal entries and reporting to accommodate monthly closings.
* Forecasting and monthly uploads to corporate (Apollo and BPC)
* Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
* Monitor expense deviation to budget.
* Tax filings and government reporting
* Banking and cash reporting / bank reconciliation
* Establish new customer profiles, terms, and credit limit.
* Review inventory activity (including freight and tariffs)
* Product costing
* Develop annual budgets.
* Annual audit coordination.
* Develop processes and procedures to improve financial accuracy and management.
* Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Business with accounting and finance emphasis
* 4 years of corporate accounting experience or equivalent internship(s)
* Strong Excel and system skills. SAP and other ERP exposure is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organizational skills
* Team player with the ability to work independently.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization.
Reporting Structure
* Reports directly to the Accounting Manager
