Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
* Ensuring correct and timely execution of key responsibilities in the Financial Shared Service (FSS) Center for the retained area according to the requirements of FSS policies, procedures and guidelines, also according to the Group Accounting Manual and legal requirements for the specific area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist/support the supervisor to be a partner with the business within the assigned area of responsibility.
* Day-to-day operations in assigned areas (e.g. accruals for invoice not yet received, month-end closing tasks/postings of assigned accounts and companies, back up for Promotion contracts)
* Participate in projects, support the implementation of findings and sustainability of achievements.
* Deliver defined output following clear procedures / processes within own job area to support the department targets.
* Develop and provide expertise for assigned functional areas/systems and processes towards team and business partners.
* Responsible for month-end closing under IFRS and local GAAP for assigned GL accounts and companies in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the organisation has a full and accurate statement of its financial position
* Responsible for annual financial statements of the assigned companies, taking into account the compliance with internal and external reporting requirements
* Oversee and assist with documentation for and support of year-end or interim audit
* Determine optimal working processes and controls needed for accurate reporting, and win the alignment and support of related departments such as Group Accounting and Group Taxes

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
* Good accounting knowledge
* Advanced knowledge of german commercial code
* Good IFRS knowledge
* Good knowledge in sales tax law
* Ability to accept and meet deadlines
* Good knowledge in the use of SAP FI through proven work experience
* Ability to read, write and communicate in English and German in a business setting
* Ability to pay close attention to detail, and analyse complex details and calculations
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
* Accounting Education with further education as accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter), tax consultant (Steuerfachangestellte) or equivalent University degree in Finance
* Good knowledge in tax law
* Good knowledge of SAP system
* Experience with MS Office
* Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Accounting
