You will work in a technically demanding environment and play a key role in ensuring the operational reliability of critical IT services in 24/7 operation. You will monitor, analyze, and resolve issues in the Oracle Engineered Systems environment and ensure high availability of IT services in 24/7 operations You will be responsible for the deployment, implementation, configuration, and continuous optimization of the IT systems in use In addition, you will actively contribute to the further development of the system landscape and participate in technical improvements and standardization efforts Furthermore, you will share responsibility for the planning, documentation, and maintenance of IT operational processes as well as the associated technical documentation You will participate in technical projects and contribute your own ideas for the further development of operations In the area of external operational support, you will manage and coordinate providers and service providers for the Oracle Engineered Systems infrastructure in the data centers at the Berlin and Würzburg locations and support on-site technical deployments Scope of Responsibilities We operate the Joint Data Center of the German Pension Insurance at the Berlin and Würzburg locations. We ensure the secure, high-performance, and highly available operation of the IT infrastructure, compliance with relevant legal standards, and support our customers with customized IT solutions in the areas of base, operating system, and database infrastructure—from consulting to IT operations. Our core business is managed IT services. Our team’s primary responsibility involves operating specialized hardware and software infrastructure for the database platform of the German Pension Insurance Data Center. In addition, we plan, manage, and coordinate deployment tasks as well as the operational management of our external partners for the pension insurance providers in various geo-redundant environments on standardized platforms with different areas of focus and diverse responsibilities. Profile a completed university degree (Bachelor’s/Diploma/FH) in IT or a comparable IT qualification, or a vocational training degree in IT, or comparable practical experience in the IT field Comprehensive knowledge of the administration and configuration of an Oracle Engineered Systems infrastructure and experience working with a Linux operating system Good knowledge of the IT systems within your area of responsibility in a database operations infrastructure, as well as the associated software, protocols, and standards Knowledge and experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving errors in IT operations, as well as demonstrable knowledge and practical experience working in an agile and ITILv3-structured environment An independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach to work, combined with a customer- and service-oriented mindset Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible Automation Platform, Python) Willingness to be on call occasionally and to take business trips approximately every six months Good German language skills (at least B2 level) and strong verbal and written communication skills Further Information Individuals with a severe disability or those deemed equivalent under Section 2(2) and (3) of SGB IX will be given preferential consideration if equally qualified.
