The Service Desk of the Central IT Operations Department of the Lower Saxony Justice System (ZIB) serves as the first and only point of contact for all justice system employees in Lower Saxony regarding any issues related to their IT workstations. Through this centrally organized point of contact, the Service Desk consultants serve as direct points of contact for over 17,000 judicial employees. Initial technical support provided by the Service Desk consultants is primarily conducted by telephone and includes receiving, processing, and analyzing incoming malfunctions and inquiries with the goal of finding an immediate solution (1st-level support). Fault reports regarding the specialized applications in use are just as much a part of the Service Desk’s core business as hardware faults of all kinds. The procedural workflows are aligned with the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and are documented using an IT service management tool. To permanently strengthen our Service Desk team at the Wildeshausen and Oldenburg locations, we are seeking a Consultant (m/f/d) Your responsibilities: Supporting users with IT issues and service requests via phone, email, or e-ticket Independently analyzing, processing, documenting, and resolving support cases within the scope of 1st-level support Escalating complex issues to 2nd- or 3rd-level support and working closely with these teams Responsibility for the entire ticket lifecycle from acceptance to closure, including follow-up and communication with users Taking on coordinating tasks during major disruptions and actively supporting the search for solutions Collecting and preparing the IT information necessary for finding solutions What sets you apart: A completed IT vocational training program (e.g., IT specialist, technical systems engineer, IT systems electronics technician) or a vocational training program in the legal field (e.g., legal assistant, Judicial Administrator, Legal and Notary Clerk) or comparable skills and knowledge. Certified knowledge of ITIL processes is expected, though this can also be acquired during the onboarding period. In addition, good knowledge of common Office applications is required, as well as a willingness to learn other necessary programs. German language proficiency at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required, as well as excellent spelling, punctuation, and the ability to express oneself precisely in both spoken and written communication. The ability to present complex IT concepts in a user-friendly manner, both verbally and in writing, and to explain them clearly is an advantage. Strong communication skills, confidence, and empathy in conducting conversations are also expected, particularly during escalation meetings. Personally, you are characterized by strong teamwork skills, a commitment to the job, and a willingness to cooperate.
