Medical doctoral thesis Experimental Ophthalmology
Data Bank Evaluation - Analysis of Disease Progression Data -
Development and Improvement of A.I.-based analyses
Our research team in the Experimental and Translational Ophthalmology Department at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz has extensive experience in basic and clinical research in the field of Ophthalmology. We are interested in translational research connecting basic research to clinical data for retinal and ocular surface diseases, such as Dry Eye Disease, AMD and Glaucoma. Combining clinical data and biomarker research will greatly contribute to a better understanding of disease onset and progression and the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art proteomics and antigen/antibody microarray technologies, as well as comprehensive cell culture and biochemical assay facilities. Access to clinical studies allows the analysis of clinical parameters and disease progression data.
We are now looking for motivated medical doctoral students to join our international team and support our research efforts.
