The Faculty of Medicine of Ulm University, Department for Neurology (Heads: Prof. Dr. Karl Georg Häusler and Prof. Dr. Jochen Weishaupt), invites applications for the position of a Professor (W3) of Neurodegeneration (f/m/d) no management responsibilities The focus of the professorship is to strengthen translational research on neurodegenerative diseases with a focus on motor neuron diseases, neurogenetics, genomics, precision medicine or systems medicine, as well as clinical-translational research. The position holder will work closely with the Ulm site of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and the DZNE study structures. Active participation in the German ALS/MND network is expected. In addition, cooperation with existing research focuses of the clinic and the Faculty of Medicine, in particular in interdisciplinary network projects with the other focus areas (trauma and ageing) are expected. Teaching duties include courses in neurology, in particular motor neuron diseases and other neurogenetic diseases, for students of human medicine, molecular medicine and the English-language Master's program in Molecular and Translational Neuroscience. Active participation in horizontal and vertical networking in the clinical section of the Human Medicine degree program as well as active participation in the establishment and implementation of new teaching concepts is expected.
