Associate Director - Computational Biology, Cardio-Renal-Metabolic diseases
The Position
We are seeking a scientifically driven Associate Director to lead a Computational Biology team focused on Cardio-Renal-Metabolic (CRM) diseases and to drive computational innovation in drug discovery. In this role, you and your team will collaborate closely with scientists in the CRM therapeutic area to identify novel drug targets and progress them through the drug discovery pipeline using large-scale data and advanced computational methods. As part of the growing Computational Innovation department, you will contribute to the development of breakthrough therapies aimed at improving patient lives.
Tasks & responsibilities
* In your new role, you will lead and manage a team of computational biologists. Therefore, you will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and scientific excellence.
* You will provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to the team members to ensuring their growth and the team’s overall success.
* Furthermore, you will spearhead cutting-edge computational biology methods for target and/or biomarker discovery, with focus on Cardio-Renal-Metabolic diseases.
* In addition, you will establish and maintain standards for data analysis, ensure the quality, integrity and reproducibility of computational results.
* For stakeholders, you will translate computational concepts and results into actionable insights to facilitating data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
* Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics or related field, with long term experience in computational sciences applied to drug discovery
* Strong leadership experience in line management, including ability to plan, allocate and manage resources efficiently
* Proven track record of scientific and pharmaceutical accomplishments; preferably in CRM indications
* Demonstrated expertise in computationally driven target identification and/or biomarker discovery
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex computational concepts to diverse audiences
* Strong interpersonal skills for fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and experience in mentoring junior scientist and foster a culture of innovation
