Employment Term: One-year contract for the first two years, with the intention to move into a full-time permanent position after that period.
Role Type: Salaried
Working hours: Normal business hours are 8.30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 8.30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, with a lunch break for one hour between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Office Location: Chausseestraße 19, 10115 Berlin
Travel Requirement: Candidates must have the ability and willingness to travel within Europe up to 3x in the year.
About the Role
Generis is seeking a proactive and experienced HR & Recruitment Specialist to support our Berlin office. This is a mid-level HR role with a strong focus on recruitment, employee onboarding, and day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of HR experience, a solid understanding of German employment law, and hands-on experience recruiting sales and office talent in Berlin.
You will support our managers and employees while ensuring HR practices are compliant, efficient, and aligned with company culture. Confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources (60%)
* Provide support across HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, and HR policy compliance in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
* Ensure adherence to German employment law while supporting the company’s need to operate efficiently and move quickly
* Maintain confidential employee records and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
* Support managers with employee relations, performance management, and HR inquiries, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance
* Assist in developing, implementing, and continuously improving HR processes, policies, and programs that support both compliance and operational speed
* Coordinate and support internal HR initiatives, such as employee engagement, training, and culture-building activities, in a scaling organization
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition (40%)
* Support full-cycle recruitment for the Berlin office, with a strong focus on sales hiring and ongoing hiring for operational roles such as Event Coordinator, Digital Marketing Coordinator, and other positions
* Support a high-volume recruitment environment driven by business growth and frequent hiring needs
* Source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and social media channels
* Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline, managing communications, interview scheduling, and follow-ups efficiently
* Post and manage job ads, ensuring descriptions are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business needs
* Assist in conducting screenings, interviews, and offer processes, balancing speed with quality and compliance
* Support onboarding programs for new hires, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and well-organized introduction
* Track recruitment metrics and provide regular updates and reports to manager
Office & Culture Support (as needed)
* Assist with general office management, including organization, supplies
* Onsite event support as needed
* Participate in planning and execution of internal events and company socials to support team engagement and culture
Qualifications
* 3–5 years of German HR experience, including recruitment responsibilities (experience in sales recruitment is a major plus ***)
* Strong command of both the English and German language
* Strong knowledge of German employment law and local HR practices, with the ability to apply them pragmatically in a fast-moving business
* Strong knowledge of the hiring market in Berlin
* Proven experience sourcing and hiring sales and office talent in a dynamic, high-growth environment
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
* Ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly
* Strong administrative skills, with proficiency in Excel, Google Drive, and HR systems
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment with changing priorities
* Ability to balance compliance with efficiency and business momentum
* Ability to travel within the EU up to 3 times per year for business summits
* Attention to detail, initiative, and a proactive mindset toward process improvement
