I'm partnered with a market leading manufacturing company based in Tübingen that is searching for a Head of Procurement to join and lead their procurement function. This family owned business is well known in the market for manufacturing electronics and testing technology used in a diverse range of industries.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with business, operational, and financial goals.
* Lead long-term sourcing strategies for raw materials, components, capital equipment, and indirect spend.
* Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply base.
* Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage strategic supplier relationships.
* Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, service levels, delivery terms, and risk mitigation.
* Establish and monitor supplier performance KPIs covering cost, quality, delivery, sustainability, and compliance.
* Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations to ensure uninterrupted supply to manufacturing operations.
* Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Finance teams.
* Own procurement budgets and contribute to cost control and margin improvement initiatives.
* Standardise and optimize procurement processes across sites and business units.
Experience Required:
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
* 8+ years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong background in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
* Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, and inventory management.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver cost savings and value creation initiatives.
* Experience managing complex, multi-site or global supply chains.
* Experience with ERP systems and modern procurement tools.
* Fluent English & German is mandatory
