Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Freelance PLC Programmer to support automation and control system development in industrial environments. The role requires strong proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal, as well as hands-on experience with CODESYS and WAGO PLCs. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of PLC networking protocols and field commissioning experience.
The project is based in Dresden, Germany, and requires availability to start on 30th June 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement PLC programs using Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200 / S7-1500).
Program and configure CODESYS-based platforms, particularly WAGO controllers.
Set up and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols: Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP.
Perform on-site commissioning, system testing, and troubleshooting.
Configure HMI/SCADA systems (e.g., WinCC ).
Execute I/O checks, fault diagnostics, and control system validation.
Collaborate closely with electrical/mechanical engineering teams and project managers.
Produce and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, commissioning protocols, and user manuals.
Provide remote support and updates as necessary.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation and control system programming.
Advanced expertise in Siemens TIA Portal.
Proficient with CODESYS environments and WAGO PLCs.
Strong command of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Profibus, etc.).
Hands-on experience in field service tasks like commissioning and fault analysis.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, PLC wiring, and process diagrams.
Familiarity with industrial safety standards is an advantage (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 62061).
Language skills: German B1 minimum (spoken & written), English for technical collaboration.
Logistics & Compliance:
Start Date: 30th June 2025
Must be available for on-site work in Dresden during commissioning phases.
Occasional travel to customer sites within Germany or EU may be required.
Candidate must hold a valid German freelance work visa or equivalent EU work authorization .
