OFFICE OF REGULATORY RELATIONS

The Office of Regulatory Relations protects the firm's regulatory reputation by managing its relationships with regulators and auditors and enhancing the firm's overall regulatory compliance. We set standards for all regulatory interactions at the firm and oversee certain areas of enhancement. We welcome people from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds who are interested in the regulatory landscape. This division is ideal for collaborative individuals who feel comfortable interacting with various stakeholders across the firm, as well as our regulators and auditors. Our work contributes directly to the firm’s success whether managing regulatory exams and audits, implementing, overseeing and assessing significant remediation initiatives and effectiveness, communicating with regulators or establishing firmwide regulatory standards.

An Analyst/Associate with ORR must have the ability to:

1. Leverage strong communication and relationship-building skills in frequent interaction with other areas of the firm, in particular, senior stakeholders and regulators
2. Strongly communicate verbally and in writing including escalate timely any blockers/setbacks
3. Identify common themes across all the regulatory and audit topics to create synergies and efficiencies, timely remediation, and to push pre-emptive measures to avoid future findings
4. Demonstrate resiliency and creativity when under pressure and when managing time-sensitive demands from competing stakeholders
5. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication, as well as analytical abilities
6. Grasp and keep abreast of relevant law, rules and policies
7. Be unfailingly detail-oriented, so as to consistently produce accurate work product
8. Effectively and efficiently conduct business by phone with both internal and external stakeholders
9. Spot and suggest potential corrective actions to address regulatory issues surfaced during the course of regulatory interactions
10. Work independently and exercise strong judgment when executing an assigned task
11. Multi-task and have the ability to manage and advance multiple projects simultaneously
12. Identify and effectively escalate potential issues to appropriate person(s)
13. Meet tight deadlines and comfortably operate in the face of time constraints
14. Persistently follow-up with colleagues to ensure that appropriate information is obtained and timely recorded

BASIC QUALIFICATION

15. Bachelor’s degree
16. At least three years of relevant post-undergraduate work experience
17. Expertise with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel
18. Good Project management experience
19. Business-level fluency in English, both orally and in writing. Fluency in German is beneficial
20. Excellent time management, analytical and communication skills
21. Integrity, motivation, intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm
22. Familiarity with financial products and markets
23. Experience working on behalf of financial institutions with respect to regulatory or legal matters
