Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
GBS Transition Management is responsible for managing and supporting country transitions to the GBS operating model whilst ensuring business continuity.
The Transition Director will lead a global team of Senior Transition Managers and Transition Managers who are managing the transition of services currently provided across several areas of Finance, Non-Trade Procurement or Human Resources, from where they are currently delivered in functions or markets, to one of the GBS Operations Centers in Dalian or Porto. He or she will act as a senior point of escalation for any issues or key decisions, working closely with senior stakeholders across inbound or outbound teams to drive to resolution.
He or she will lead the design and development of a standard transition methodology, ensuring that it effectively supports the smooth and timely delivery of the GBS program roadmap.
The Transition Director, will be a member of the GBS Program leadership team and be expected to contribute to the development of long-term strategy for GBS, as well as develop sustainable long-term program management competencies within GBS.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a large global team of Transition Directors, Senior Transition Managers and Transition Managers to transition services from functions or markets to GBS, in line with the GBS Program roadmap
• Lead the design and development of and establish an effective standard transition methodology
• Contribute to the development of long-term strategy for GBS
• Build the appropriate structure to be able to manage the respective organization effectively, identify and develop the future talents and create realistic succession scenarios for key positions
• Allocate the different projects/programs and work streams to the respective teams and employees considering experience, project complexity, workload and organizational efficiency
• Ensure appropriate leadership skills are present at every level through creating a motivational and supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained and provided with career opportunities through development
• Continuously monitor and evaluate team workload and organizational efficiency with the support of IT-systems, data and analysis and team feedback and make appropriate changes in order to meet business needs
• Drive the transition of processes and services from function/market ot GBS in line with the agreed roadmap and timelines
• Co-ordinate with Operations Centres, Market/Functional teams and IT to ensure smooth deliver of transitions
• Final Escalation point for queries and challenges coming from market/functional teams

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
• Four-year college or university degree with focus on Business Administration, or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 8+ years of progressive work experience in mid to large scale project or program management
• Ideally PMI certified
• Experience of transitioning services, people and processes to a GBS organisation
