ConverterTec is a global specialist in electric power conversion. Since 1995, the first variable-speed Concycle® generators and power conversion technology have been used in marine applications, uninterruptible power supply, as well as in emerging wind and solar/PV applications.

Our R&D centers in Kempen, Krakow and Sofia as well as our global service hubs support our global customer base on all continents.
In Kempen we are looking for a Technical Service Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Providing application, configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting and other technical support via telephone, email, knowledgebase systems and other suitable communication tools.
* Consulting with customers and field service dispatchers/ supervisors to define the scope of work for projects.
* Analyzing malfunctions, configuring systems, adjusting dynamics and making minor software modifications by using ConverterTec hardware and software.
* Consulting with engineering to resolve problems in order to meet or exceed customer expectations.
* Preparation for a trip by studying drawings, schematics, manuals and other pertinent information to determine the best solution and proper tools for system set up or problem resolution. Also organizes other resources if needed.
* Working with customers and field service supervisors to define timeline and travel logistics and to provide accurate project cost quotes.
* Performing and overseeing the installation, replacement and periodic corrective and preventative maintenance of equipment and control software, while providing direction to lower level Field Service Engineers.
* Repairing, replacing or modifying equipment/spare parts/return parts utilizing the knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems, along with using standard test instruments and hand tools.
* Preparing concise service/warranty reports and other relevant job-related paperwork for customers and internal distribution in a timely manner. May review and approve reports from lower level field service engineers.
* Carrying out prototype tests for products developed in-house, including the creation of test reports and future installation instructions.
* Performing more complex software/ hardware TSP creation, test setups/ troubleshooting, engine calibration, emissions testing, testing of customer/internal hardware/software for review.
* Creating and updating BOM’s, wiring diagrams, drawings, electrical schematics, test plans, training material, O&M manuals for the customer.
* Performing product testing, simulation and modeling.
* Development of product manuals, and knowledgebase content by contributing troubleshooting insights and application guidance.
Requirements:
* Bachelor Degree in Engineering or an Associate Degree in a technical field with additional relevant experience required.
* 7+ years of related experience.
* Complete understanding of component and system function and testing requirements.
* Understanding of electrical or mechanical principles.
* Able to meet customer needs in difficult and demanding situations while leading and mentoring other Field Service Engineers, Technical Support Engineers and/or customer engineers.
* Ability to effectively communicate with different types /levels of people (technicians and clients, various cultures).
* Strong ability to clearly communicate technical information by telephone, email, knowledgebase systems, or other communications systems.
* Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and pressure.
* Excellent English and German language levels.
* Complex problem solving and troubleshooting skills, sometimes with incomplete information.
* Demonstrated ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities and participate in activities to improve overall efficiency.
* Travel required, both domestic and international
