About the position:
Defines and executes the ETS (European Transport Solutions) ‘Simply Grow’ strategy for Hillebrand Gori around:
* Modes : Short Sea, Road, Rail and Intermodal
* Customers & lanes
* Carrier strategy for all modes
* Product Value proposition
* Pricing & Procurement approach
* Yield Management
* Resource planning both business development and operations
Principal Accountabilities
* Ensures that the strategy is being followed by the network
* Decides on the pricing strategy for larger tenders and intervenes if required
* Gets personally involved with larger opportunities & tenders
* Oversees timely and accurate submission of sizeable tenders
* Maintains a personal relationship with main vendors - all modes and with main ETS Customers
* Connects the dots between HG and DGF units (especially Freight)
* Is responsible for procurement – all modes
* Decides on when procurement takes place centrally or in the countries
* Is co-responsible for the financial results (EBIT) in the countries & region
* Defines the regional budget and leads the country budgets
* Reviews the P & L with the countries on a monthly basis
* Challenges the forecast and insists on corrective measures where needed
* Ensures quality KPI’s are being met in the countries
* Acts as ETS product escalation point within the network
Qualifications
* Education Level: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 5 to 10+ years of senior leadership experience in international road transport, intermodal operations, or logistics across Europe.
* Leadership & Strategy: Demonstrated ability to manage multi-location operations, negotiate with different stakeholders, and build highly motivated, cross-cultural teams
* Business & Financial Acumen: A proven track record of managing Profit & Loss (P&L), designing pricing structures for complex RFQs, and achieving operational efficiency
Knowledge & Skills
* Ability to forecast supply chain risks, design contingency plans, and make rapid, high-stakes decisions across a vast geographic network
* Proven experience auditing carrier performance, negotiating international haulage contracts, and building a reliable logistics network
* Understanding of complex Request for Quotations (RFQs), budget forecasting, and profit and loss (P&L) optimization
* Strong Operations and process expertise
* Structured problem solving and execution mindset
* Clear written and verbal communication
* High degree of ownership and independence
* Comfortable operating in a global matrix organization
