Role accountabilities:
As a Cost Manager, you will develop effective cost, procurement, and commercial strategies, supporting clients throughout project lifecycles—from initiation to contract management—to ensure safe, cost-effective solutions for projects and programs.
* Develop budget estimates and cost plans from feasibility to detailed reviews.
* Analyze forecasts, variances, and risks; develop measures for cost savings.
* Prepare bills of quantities, assist with pricing, and draft tender documents.
* Manage change orders post-contract, including monthly reviews.
* Handle post-contract tasks: reviewing contracts, processing payments, assessing changes, and preparing reports.
* Prepare financial progress reports, cost analyses, and recommendations.
* Build and maintain a comprehensive cost database.
* Attend meetings with clients, planning, and site teams for collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Economics, Business Administration, or related.
* 5+ years of experience in cost control and financial management of construction projects, preferably Data Centers or large infrastructure projects.
* Negotiation skills, analytical abilities, and financial understanding of construction projects.
* Strong communication skills; ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
* Proficiency in cost management software, MS Excel, MS Project, and similar tools.
* Fluency in English required; German is advantageous.
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and demands.
* Experience with AHO, HOAI, VOB; international models like EPCM, FIDIC are a plus.
* Willingness to travel within Germany and abroad as needed.
