About the Client:
Our client is a globally recognized organization operating in the education sector and headquartered in Bremen, Germany. As part of a larger international group with more than 3,000 employees worldwide, they cultivate a collaborative, diverse, and globally connected working environment.
They’re looking for a VP of People who will take genuine ownership of their HR team and the development of people processes across the company, ensuring that they effectively support their employees, leadership, and organizational goals.
This is a hands-on strategic HR leadership role, not a policy-only executive position.
This position goes beyond high-level strategy and requires someone who enjoys being closely involved in operational HR initiatives while guiding a growing team.
Your responsibilities:
* Lead and develop a team of approximately 20 professionals
* Define and execute the company’s HR strategy, ensuring alignment with business and organizational goals
* Oversee and enhance talent acquisition processes to support ongoing company growth
* Design and improve onboarding and integration programs to support new employees joining the organization
* Implement and manage performance management frameworks, including goal setting, evaluation cycles, and feedback processes
* Drive organizational and people development initiatives in close collaboration with the executive board
* Lead organizational transformation and change management projects
* Act as a strategic partner to leadership by advising on HR and personnel-related matters
* Maintain strong collaboration with the works council
* Oversee the personnel budget planning and monitoring
* Ensure effective application of German labor and employment regulations
* Improve HR processes through digitalization and modern HR systems
* Promote a strong organizational culture, employee engagement, and cross-team collaboration
Your qualifications:
* Higher degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Labor Law or equivalent qualification
* 10+ of professional experience in the field of Human Resources including leadership responsibility
* Strong expertise in German labor and tax law, cooperation with works councils, organizational development, and change management, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
* Proactive and highly responsive mindset with strong stakeholder orientation. Start-up mentality.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, stress resistance, empathy and assertiveness
* Fluency in English and German (written and verbal)
