Student assistant (f/m/d) on the topic of Built Environment and Human Resilience

up to 7 hours per week to support the work in the European project MULTICLIMACT

Duration/Term of employment:
initially limited until the end of the academic semester. An extension by semester is intended

Start date:
as soon as possible

Remuneration/Rates:
the salary is based on the guidelines for student and research assistants

The European project MULTICLIMACT (MULTI-faceted CLIMate adaptation ACTions to improve resilience, preparedness and responsiveness of the built environment against multiple hazards at multiple scales) aims to develop a framework and a tool able to assess the resilience of the built environment and its occupants at multiple scales against locally relevant climatic conditions and natural hazards caused by climate change.

Our profile

The Healthy Living Spaces lab (headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Marcel Schweiker) aims to develop innovative approaches to the design of living spaces and buildings, the analysis of sources of disturbance and the development and establishment of preventive measures. The working group sees itself as an inter- and transdisciplinary link between medical research and relevant research activities from engineering, natural and social sciences.

Your profile

You are a Bachelor or Master student and are interested in:

* Human and built environment resilience
* Interdisciplinary, independent and problem-oriented work
* Understanding current building regulations, environmental policies and determinants of human health and resilience

Preferred skills

* Prior experience in literature reviews
* Prior experience with writing reports
* Prior experience with SoSciSurvey
* Prior experience with data handling, visualization and analysis using R/Python
* Good knowledge of the English and/or German language

Your tasks

* Review of literature on relevant topics
* Supporting the multidisciplinary team with data curation and potentially with data analysis

Conditions

* A valid certificate of study
* For foreign students:
valid residence certificate, work permit, registration certificate
