Angestellte/r (Materialverwaltung) Wiesbaden, Germany Ausschreibungsbereich WHO MAY APPLY: Current INTERNAL Local National Employees throughout Germany. This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany AND EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany. Hauptaufgaben Operates the self-help store and provides a variety of advice and instruction on household maintenance and minor repair. Operates the self-help store and reviews procedures and operations to assure availability of tools and materials to support customer self-help projects including the maintenance and repair of various housing items such as light fixtures and shades, paint, floor tiles, faucets, windows, doors, kitchen fixtures, pest control, etc. Conducts inventories and manages stock levels for approximately 400-line items including hardware, garden equipment, brooms, light fixtures, child safety items, smoke detectors, paint, kitchen and plumbing fixtures, filters, hoses, etc. to assure adequate supplies. Requisitions items through supply channels and local purchase methods which are authorized but not stocked based on usage. Reviews expenditures to monitor funds within assigned limitations; and prepares requests for additional funds as necessary. Maintains inventory records, hand receipts, and other documents reflecting the status of operations. Provides customer assistance to store patrons. Discusses project with customer to assure project is authorized based on the type of housing (e.g., government housing, government leased, or economy) and/or type of project and should be referred to facility engineers or housing personnel. Provides advice on tools and materials needed for projects. Instructs on proper methods, techniques and safety tips to obtain desired results. Conducts self-help classes. Instructs participants on types of repairs and maintenance which are appropriate under the program, tools and supplies that are available, and proper methods and techniques for safe and proper use of a variety of tools including hammers, screw drivers, wrenches, drills and saws to obtain desired results. Performs other duties as assigned. Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below. E&T Level II: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 1 year of experience as defined in B below. E&T Level III and above: No additional experience required. Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade. Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.. Experience B: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled. *Office automation skills required. * Driver's license class B required. LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL: English Language Proficiency Level B2 and German Language Proficiency Level B2 required.
