Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with a Large Engineering service provider to support their search for a Black Utilities Specialist to join one of their pharmaceutical clients projects based in the Rhineland-Palatinate area on an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and engineer plant utility systems such as cooling water, compressed air, steam, and waste water systems for complex industrial and life sciences facilities.
Create and manage technical documents including process descriptions, PFDs, P&IDs, specifications, and technical reports.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary project teams (e.g., building services, automation, process) to ensure integration of utility systems.
Coordinate with external partners and suppliers to align utility designs with project requirements.
Support the commissioning phase and assist with technical troubleshooting of utility systems during installation and startup.
Ensure designs meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals.
Experience and Skills Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
Several years of experience in utility system engineering, ideally within the pharmaceutical, or biotech industries.
Proficiency in utility system design, including experience with PFDs, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with relevant technical standards and building codes.
Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Fluency in English; German language skills are advantageous.
