OverviewPlanet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites. This role focuses on expanding Planet's constellation services in the German market and across the broader EMEA region.This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Berlin, requiring 3 days per week in the office and regional travel.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Solution Design: Contribute to the design of robust, scalable satellite-based solutions for key customers across Germany and the EMEA region, particularly in defense and civil government. Translate customer needs into clear technical specifications and solution concepts, articulate their value through proposals, and present concepts to customers.Technical Support in Strategic Pursuits: Serve as a key technical member of the Space Business Group, supporting strategic customer engagements from initial technical discussions through solution definition, negotiation, and contracting. Collaborate with the global space business team and other functions to qualify opportunities and build strong technical relationships with stakeholders.Market Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement: Gather and share customer feedback and technical requirements to inform Planet's product roadmap and service offerings. Collaborate with product management, engineering, and cross-functional teams to champion regional needs and resolve technical challenges for successful outcomes.Support for German Strategic Initiatives: Provide technical input to European supply chain and manufacturing initiatives, evaluating feasibility and implications of establishing or expanding operations in Europe, and act as a technical liaison with local partners or suppliers as needed.What You BringProficient in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication in both languages.Experience designing or delivering technical solutions for customers, with knowledge of the German government and specifically the German Bundeswehr.Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Systems, Software), Physics, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, or related field.6+ years in a client-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, Technical Pre-Sales) within space, aerospace, defense, remote sensing, or related high-tech industry.Good understanding of satellite systems, constellation services, or geospatial data and their applications; aerospace or remote sensing knowledge is essential.Experience in fast-paced or startup environments is beneficial.Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work autonomously on assigned tasks.Willingness and ability to travel across the EMEA region as required.Eligible for US Export Control licenses such as ITAR and EAR.Experience in managing aerospace supply chains or involvement in satellite testing, assembly, or manufacturing is a plus.Application & EligibilityApplication Deadline: November 20, 2025 by 23:59 Pacific Time (GMT -7)Export ControlPlanet Labs Germany GmbH is authorized to receive U.S. export-controlled information under an export license.
