The CH-47 Mechanic (A&P or FCC) performs maintenance and inspects on CH-47 systems maintaining to FAA standards. Employee will receive Premium pay while conducting Flight Engineer duties.
1. Perform the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance with a primary expertise as a CH-47 mechanic, repair functions including assembly and modification on a variety of Army and other DoD cross-service aircraft, their major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and related systems.
2. Install, connect, and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission: install and align fuselage parts; balance, align, and install tail rotor assemblies; rig complete flight control systems.
3. Incorporate authorized modifications and changes.
4. Make operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources and powered ground equipment.
5. Inspect and troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunctions; disassemble to point of trouble; adjust, repair, realign or replace defective component or assembly.
6. Must be able to properly use a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges torque wrenches and scales and test, measurement and diagnostic equipment related to specific aircraft models.
Minimum Requirements:
7. High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
8. Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience is required.
9. FAA A&P OR FCC Elements 1 and 3 Required.
10. FAA (A&P) required, with at least Two (2) years aviation maintenance experience, and Two (2) years on the assigned MDS (CH-47).
11. All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
12. If No A&P, Must possess an FCC License with (Elements 1 and 3) And Three (3) years Aviation maintenance experience, Three (3) years rotary wing aircraft experience and two (2) years on the assigned CH-47 Mission Design Series (MDS).
13. (If willing and able to obtain an FCC License, discuss with Recruiter).
14. Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance, NAC-I T1 Public Trust. ** US Citizenship is required to obtain a T1/CAC NACI Clearance.
15. Interim NACI approval required for deployment.
16. Valid US Passport with at least 6 month at the time of travel is required for deployment to Germany.
Flight Engineer specific:
17. Must have a valid/current FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate w/ECG endorsement
18. Possess FAA Flight Engineer Certification or military equivalent
19. Specialized training courses in Flight Engineering is required
20. Minimum of four years’ work experience as a Flight Engineer
Germany Specific:
21. TESA Approval: (German Govt) Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; with 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience.
22. Travel: As required in support of task order.
Knowledge & Skills
23. Possess good communication skills; be adaptable, diversified and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft system.
24. Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles to complete properly all probable work tasks.
25. Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment.
26. Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required.
27. Must have skill in reading, applying and interpreting technical data.
Flight Engineer specific:
28. Demonstrated proven and verifiable aviation experience including ethics, ability and professionalism of the highest standards are required for this position.
29. Working knowledge for operating navigational and communication equipment installed on the aircraft.
30. Capable of computing and annotating weight and balance logs for the aircraft.
31. Must be able to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
32. Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
33. Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
34. Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
35. Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
