We are looking for our production site Merlin in Bornheim for a Working Student R&D (m/f/d) in part-time (16-20 hours per week). We are seeking a highly motivated and committed working student to support our Research & Development department in the field of Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) in Bornheim, Germany. This purely research-focused role provides the opportunity to contribute to the development and optimisation of AST methods in accordance with ISO 20776 (broth microdilution standard for AST) and ISO 13485 quality requirements. Design, execution, and evaluation of microbiological experiments related to AST method development and optimisationDraft experimental plans, accurately record laboratory results, and prepare structured technical reports in line with Bruker’s standardsTroubleshooting and problem-solving in laboratory experiments with guidance from senior researchersMaintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment and materialsActive collaboration and open communication within the R&D teamEnrolled student (m/f/d) in microbiology or a related life science disciplineSolid knowledge of basic microbiology (theory and laboratory techniques) Reliable time management and ability to work on consecutive weekdaysFluent in English and German, both written and spokenExcellent writing and communication skillsTeam-oriented mindset High motivation and commitment to quality research workAdvantageous: Prior knowledge of AST techniques
