Senior Systems Engineer (all genders)
Network & Network Security

Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available network infrastructures
2. Evaluate and select network hardware and software based on business requirements
3. Create network architectures ensuring fault tolerance and high availability
4. Implement network solutions including device configuration, cabling, and integration into existing environments
5. Conduct testing to validate functionality, performance, and security of implemented solutions
6. Monitor network performance and security using appropriate tools and dashboards
7. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues to minimize downtime and service disruption
8. Perform regular security reviews, audits, and risk assessments
9. Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks for routine network administration tasks
10. Utilize automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for infrastructure management
11. Identify opportunities for process automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
12. Create and maintain detailed documentation of network topologies, configurations, and infrastructure changes
13. Develop operational and support documentation for internal teams
14. Collaborate closely with internal IT teams to ensure smooth implementation and operation of network solutions
Requirements:
15. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent qualification
16. Several years of professional experience in network engineering and network security
17. Strong hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network security implementations
18. Experience with AlgoSec Firewall Management tool is ideal
19. Deep understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and PKI
20. Knowledge of encryption technologies and cryptographic principles
21. Experience with cloud security concepts and cloud-based infrastructure environments
22. Proficiency in scripting/automation languages for infrastructure and task automation
23. Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessments is a plus
24. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and implement mitigation measures
25. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus
