Reporting to the EMEA Principal Engineer, the Fire and Life Safety Senior Manager will oversee all aspects of fire safety and life safety systems within our data center facilities. This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive fire and life safety policies, procedures, and systems to protect infrastructure, personnel, and clients. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure that our facilities meet and exceed industry standards and regulations. This position is based in Germany.
Your responsibilities
* Develop and implement comprehensive fire and life safety strategies, policies, and procedures across all data center operations.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
* Oversee the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and testing of fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, and other life safety systems.
* Create/collaborate on commissioning test scripts for fire and life safety systems.
* Coordinate with local operational teams, fire departments and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
* Lead and train a team of fire and life safety specialists (SME’s), providing guidance and support in procedures and protocols.
* Collaborate with design and construction teams to integrate fire and life safety considerations into facility planning and development.
* In conjunction with operational teams, manage relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure the quality and reliability of fire and life safety systems and services.
* On a regular basis prepare, maintain and approve documentation, reports, SOP/EOP and records related to fire and life safety systems and compliance.
* Participate in emergency planning and response activities, including scenario drills and operational team training sessions.
* Provide a point of escalation for fire and life safety systems issues.

Your profile
* A degree in fire safety engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
* Professional certification in fire and life safety management (e.g., CFPS, CSP) is highly desirable.
* A minimum of 8 years of experience in fire and life safety management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a data center or critical facilities environment.
* In-depth knowledge of fire and life safety codes, standards (NFPA, ICC), and best practices.
* Experience with the design, operation, and maintenance of fire suppression systems and life safety equipment.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects.
* Good understanding of all building design standards for fire detection, suppression and regulations relating to physical fire protection
* Technical understanding of all extinguishing systems (Gaseous & Water based) including requirements for European standards and FM Global requirements.
* Good numerical and literacy skills and high levels of computer literacy
* The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with good relationship building skills.
* There maybe a requirement to work occasional un-social hours to meet the requirements of the business.
* As NTT business language is English, this position requires the candidate to be fluent in written and verbal English, a second European language is desirable (German, French, Spanish)
