Job Title: Interim Engineering Manager (Remote, Germany-based Client)

Duration: 6 to 12 months rolling
About the Role
We are supporting a consulting client in Germany looking for an experienced Interim Engineering Manager to lead and scale a newly forming engineering team.
This is a fully remote role with a strong emphasis on people leadership, client communication, and team scaling — ideal for someone with a solid technical foundation and current experience working in small to medium-sized consulting environments.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a cross-functional team of Backend, Frontend, Mobile, and QA engineers
- Own the recruitment process including interviews, selection, and onboarding
- Lead people management activities
- Serve as the primary technical and delivery interface with the end client
- Collaborate with technical leads to shape architecture and delivery roadmaps
Requirements
- Proven track record as an Engineering Manager or Team Lead, particularly within consulting environments
- Recent experience working for small to medium-sized consulting companies
- Active consulting background with direct client engagement
- Strong technical foundation (software development, architecture, or DevOps)
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Comfortable working fully remote and managing distributed teams
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with modern web/backend/mobile technologies
- Familiarity with agile delivery, consulting best practices, and client-facing delivery models
- Experience leading teams in greenfield or startup-style environments
