AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED INTERNATIONAL (ACN)
is a pastoral Charity of the Catholic Church, which supports Christians wherever they are persecuted, oppressed or in pastoral need. Funded exclusively by private donations, ACN supports over 5000 projects annually in more than 140 countries with a budget of around 100 million Euros.
ACN is also a pontifical foundation, directly answerable to the Holy Father and has 23 national offices engaged in fundraising in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia. Our International Headquarters is in Königstein, near Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
We are currently looking for a
Assistant Editor for our Communication Department (Press & PR) full-time (39 hrs/week)
Tasks
· Write original articles in the primary language of the role.
· Edit and translate various types of content (news articles, interviews, features) in Spanish and English.
· Support translation and editing tasks in additional languages as needed.
· Review and refine content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across in the main language and other if
necessary.
· Conduct research using internal databases, external sources, and specialized software.
· Monitor and report on press and media coverage related to ACN.
· Assist in the planning and execution of international online events.
Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in an editorial or journalistic role.
* Fluency in Spanish and English, any other language is of advantage.
* Experienced ability to work in a team, flexibility, and resilience.
* Good knowledge of the Catholic Church worldwide.
* General knowledge of the worldwide media landscape .

* Strong editorial skills, especially in the main languages

* Efficiency under pressure
* Creative thinking
* Proficiency in IT tools including Microsoft Office, SharePoints, Zoom, Canva, Dropbox, Google Drive and WeTransfer.
