This unique program thus adds a European perspective, with the ambition to lift Ph.D. education to the next level. /p pWe are looking to hire a /p h4 Web Developer (m/f/d) for MP‑AIX /h4 at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen h4 /h4 h4Roles Responsibilities /h4 pAs a web developer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining a dedicated online application portal for recruiting excellent doctoral researchers within the Max Planck Artificial Intelligence Network (MP‑AIX). /p ul liImplement new features in coordination with different stakeholders, including faculty members, scientific coordinators, and doctoral researchers, in collaboration with ELLIS and software development partners. /li liRefactor and optimize existing features to improve the overall performance and user experience of the portal. /li liImplement and improve separation of concerns within the codebase to ensure maintainability and scalability. /li liImprove the User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) in coordination with stakeholders. /li liCollaborate with the cross‑site coordination team to ensure seamless integration with other systems and processes, and to support the recruiting of excellent doctoral researchers. /li /ul h4Education Experience /h4 pThe ideal candidate will have: /p ul liA bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification/experience /li liExperience developing web apps and websites as well as with standard web technologies and services /li liExperience in Ruby on Rails or a similar MVC-based framework such as Laravel /li liGood frontend skills, especially in Javascript /li liExperience with databases and basic SQL knowledge (MySQL/PostgreSQL) /li liBasic knowledge of Git and the Linux CLI /li liIdeally, the candidate will also have experience with Bootstrap and Google Material Design, experience in gradual refactoring, debugging/monitoring skills, and experience working with GitLab /li liExperience using an automated testing framework, ideally a BDD tool such as Cucumber /li liExposure to web server configuration/admin (nginx) /li liWillingness to work on legacy code /li liExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. /li liVery good command of English. /li /ul h4Our offer /h4 pAs part of the Scientific Coordination Office (SCO), you will join a motivated, international, and diverse team of approximately 30 members.
