Tasks
* Follow the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) with a focus on data-driven systems.
* Analyze system flows, data usage, and end-to-end data processing workflows.
* Identify data-related problem areas, optimize performance, and resolve pipeline issues.
* Lead and contribute to multiple Scrum teams, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
* Enforce clean, secure, and scalable data engineering best practices.
* Design and implement robust data architectures for internal products and external data interfaces.
* Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load healthcare data from diverse sources.
* Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance through effective data governance and management practices.
* Collaborate closely with data analysts and stakeholders to deliver KPI dashboards and custom reports, leveraging BI tools.
* Maintain and continuously improve data infrastructure to support performance, scalability, and reliability.
* Research, evaluate, and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices to enhance data workflows and platform capabilities.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* 7+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or a closely related backend/data-focused role.
* Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms .
* Excellent proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development.
* Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases .
* Proven experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, preferably in the healthcare domain .
* Hands-on experience with data processing and orchestration frameworks such as Apache Spark, Airflow, or similar tools.
* Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs for data integration.
* Solid understanding of Git-based workflows and version control.
* Experience with Docker and containerized data applications.
* Strong knowledge of clean, secure, and maintainable coding practices .
* Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies .
* Excellent documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
* Proficiency with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik .
