Build the foundations for trusted self-service analytics at scale by designing, developing, and maintaining data transformation pipelines and AI models throughout their lifecycle that business stakeholders can confidently adopt, earning trust through data quality and empowerment, enabling stakeholders to independently answer their frequently asked business questions while you tackle more complex analyses and strategic challenges. Design and develop game-changing AI-powered applications to streamline and automate processes and workflows to enable Zalando’s business growth, improve customer and supplier experience, drive operational efficiency, and maximise profitability. Actively participate in architecture discussions with engineering teams and senior colleagues in analytics and tech, evaluate trade-offs, and make sound recommendations. WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF You hold a Master’s in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a similar field and gained 5 years of professional experience in data analytics or data science. You have proven experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using SQL and Python on cloud data warehouses and lakehouses (ideally, AWS Redshift and Databricks), with strong knowledge of orchestration tools (dbt and Apache Airflow). You are proficient in data visualisation best practices and tools (Tableau, Looker, or MicroStrategy) and have exceptional data storytelling abilities to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and actionable insights to diverse audiences. You have hands-on experience with statistical analysis and machine learning techniques (regression, classification, clustering), practical GenAI applications, and successfully deployed solutions in production environments. You uphold rigorous software engineering standards in version control (Git/GitHub), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions), and code documentation best practices. You exhibit intellectual curiosity and critical thinking to amplify your business impact through strategic integration of AI in your analytics workflows and rigorous evaluation of its output. You show demonstrated ability to develop profound business understanding, proactively identify opportunities, effectively manage priorities and stakeholders’ expectations, translate business questions into concrete analytical problems, bring industry trends and best practices to the conversation, and make sound data-backed recommendations.
