Principal Analog Design Research Engineer - Munich - Relocation Support Available - PHD
We are a dynamic and highly motivated Analog Mixed Signal research group within an advanced technology research center focused on high-speed communications and analog interfaces. Our team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of analog circuit design and developing cutting-edge solutions for next-generation communication systems.
Your Mission
* Lead the development of high-speed analog circuits including ADCs, DACs, PLLs, CTLEs, and amplifiers for SerDes and other communication interfaces.
* Define and optimize system-level architectures for high-speed serial links, ensuring optimal power, performance, and area (PPA).
* Develop innovative analog design solutions to enhance signal integrity, noise reduction, and jitter minimization.
* Perform detailed circuit design, simulation, and analysis, ensuring compliance with performance and manufacturability standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including digital design, systems engineering, and physical design to achieve seamless integration.
* Mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and contribute to technical strategy.
* Oversee the validation of prototypes, test chip design, and characterization to meet stringent performance requirements.
* Stay up-to-date with advancements in high-speed analog design and contribute through publications, patents, and technical discussions.
Your Expertise
* Ph.D. or Master’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
* Several years of hands-on experience in analog design for high-speed interfaces, including SerDes, Ethernet, DDR, ADC/DAC, PLL, and amplifiers.
* Strong knowledge of high-speed analog circuit design methodologies and signal integrity analysis.
* Expertise in channel equalization, clock/data recovery, and jitter analysis.
* Proficiency in analog simulation tools (e.g., Spice, MATLAB) and verification techniques.
* Experience in mixed-signal design and system-level integration.
* Familiarity with SiGe, CMOS, or BiCMOS technologies for high-speed circuit applications.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to lead complex design efforts.
* Fluent in English with excellent communication and leadership skills in a multicultural, multi-partner environment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, work collaboratively, and meet deadlines.
* Willingness to travel occasionally as part of the role.
