What your day will look like
The Head of Global Tax is responsible for overseeing the company's global tax strategy and compliance. This leadership role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with international tax regulations, and developing tax planning strategies to optimise the company's tax position.
1. Lead and manage the global tax team.
2. Develop and implement global tax strategies to optimise the company's tax position.
3. Ensure compliance with international tax regulations and reporting requirements.
4. Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns and filings for all jurisdictions.
5. Manage tax audits and disputes with tax authorities.
6. Provide guidance on tax implications of business transactions and corporate structures.
7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with tax strategies and compliance.
8. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
9. Prepare and review tax provision calculations and financial statement disclosures.
10. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the tax function.
11. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in global tax management.
12. Team Leadership: Build, motivate and lead a high-performing team. Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
What you need to fulfill the role
Technical / leadership
13. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
14. German native speaker
15. CPA, CTA, or equivalent certification required.
16. Minimum of 10 years of experience in global tax management or a similar role from an international company environment.
17. Profound knowledge of transfer pricing.
18. Strong leadership and team management skills.
Functional expertise or method expertise
19. Extensive knowledge of international tax laws and regulations, especially for Germany and Internationally.
20. Extensive knowledge of transfer pricing in an international organisation.
21. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
22. Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
23. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
