Product Engineering Manager

About the role:
The Product Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers and drafters in Europe. This role oversees the New Product Development (NPD) and R&D projects during the execution phase for the B&L and JPI product lines, as well as works closely with Product Management on ideation and business case development.
The manager is also responsible for sustaining engineering for B&L products in Norderstedt, as well as driving VAVE and cost-saving initiatives.
This position requires a strategic mindset, strong technical background (mechanical or electrical), and proven leadership skills and will collaborate cross-functionally, support customer needs, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
About your responsibilities at SPX Flow
1. Lead the Norderstedt Product Engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cost effectiveness. Oversee sustaining engineering for B&L products in Norderstedt, ensuring product quality and performance.
2. Drive VAVE and cost-reduction initiatives for our B&L products
3. Manage NPD and R&D projects for B&L and JPI product lines, from execution through launch
4. Collaborate with Product Management on new product ideation and business case development
5. Monitor KPIs and implement action plans to meet performance targets
6. Support root cause analysis and second-level technical issue resolution
7. Adopt and improve engineering tools and processes (., CAD, PDM, PLM)
8. Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, and succession planning
9. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (., ATEX, Machinery Directive)
10. Coordinate with global engineering resources to optimize capacity and execution
11. Participate in strategic planning and cross-functional meetings with the B&L leadership team

19. Understands different engineering organization models and how they can be efficiently applied within the organization
20. Preferably experience in measurement control and regulation technology
21. First experiences with IoT
22. Must understand BOM management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
23. Engineering degree with 5+ years of experience, preferably with manufacturing background
24. Technical team management experience with 2+ years
25. Must have motivational skills and a high sense of urgency to plan and execute to production and development schedules
26. Interpersonal skills are critical for optimum communication with internal and external stakeholders.
27. Ability to produce professional engineering reports and presentations
28. Excellent time management and organization skills
29. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
30. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
31. Occasional travel required (~10%)
32. Must be fluent in English and German
