The position of Leiterin oder Leiter des Referates 53 "Strahlenschutz, Arbeitsmedizin" will be filled as a permanent post from 1 May 2026. Job Summary Looking for an engaged personality (m/w/d) who will assume leadership responsibilities and work in the upper state occupational health authority, particularly in occupational medicine and radiation protection, to support the LDS in performing its tasks in a leading role. Responsibilities Organizational, personnel and technical leadership of Referat 53 across the three sites of Dresden, Chemnitz and Leipzig. Responsible for a 37‑person team, including personnel directives, support and counseling of staff. Preparation of general work instructions and development of measures to optimize work flow. Negotiate and take responsibility for decisions and tasks; demonstrate exceptional leadership competence. Ensure regular presence at all three sites and be available for business travel. Qualifications Completed scientific university degree (Diploma, Master or equivalent; a Master required if the qualification is a Fachhochschulabschluss – the combination of Bachelor's and Master's must comprise at least 300 ECTS). Study in an engineering or natural science discipline (especially Physics or Medical Engineering). At least one year of leadership experience within interdisciplinary units or groups with a minimum of five staff, or guiding at least eight employees. For applicants from the public sector: at least one year of experience in a top state or federal authority (or comparable EU institutions). For applicants from the private sector: at least five years of overall professional experience in work areas comparable to referent / leadership roles in the public sector. Especially suitable: technical occupational health or industrial hygiene experience or experience in digitization projects.
