The International School of Bremen (ISB) is seeking an exceptional educational leader to join our thriving international community as Head of School.
This is a unique opportunity to take on a senior leadership role with a strong focus on teaching and learning, pastoral care, and whole-school improvement, while contributing directly to ISB's strategic development and long-term success.
About ISB
Located in northern Germany, ISB is a dynamic, inclusive, and forward-looking international school with students from over 30 nationalities. With an enrolment of around 360 students from Early Years to Grade 12, we offer the IB Diploma, Cambridge IGCSEs, and a rich, well-rounded curriculum that prepares young people for life beyond school.
The Role
The Head of School will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience at ISB. Working closely with the School Director and senior leadership team, you will:
Lead teaching and learning across the school, ensuring consistent quality and innovation in classroom practice.
Provide pastoral oversight, nurturing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students.
Take responsibility for three strategic priorities:
NEASC Accreditation – leading the school's upcoming accreditation process.
Staff Appraisal Model – embedding a culture of professional growth and accountability.
Teaching & Learning Excellence – driving continuous improvement across all divisions of the school.
This is a senior leadership appointment with scope for significant professional growth.
About You
We are looking for a School focussed, collaborative leader with a strong track record of success in international education. You will bring:
Significant leadership experience in an international or independent school.
Expertise in curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment, with the ability to inspire high-quality teaching.
Experience with accreditation processes (NEASC, CIS, IB, or equivalent).
A proven ability to lead change, build capacity in others, and foster a culture of excellence.
