Knowledge Lawyer - Banking & Finance (m/w/x), Munich
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with deep expertise in banking to be a member of our highly successful Global Transactions practice in Germany and our valued global Knowledge function. Role summary/purpose of job
The Knowledge Lawyer’s primary focus will be on banking transactions, including leveraged finance, corporate and acquisition finance (investment grade lending), infrastructure finance, and real estate finance. The role involves working closely with partners and lawyers, covering legal topics relevant to finance lawyers across practice areas, such as subordination, security, and guarantees.
The responsibilities include:
* Enabling the firm to provide market-leading client service by tracking and sharing updates on key developments, analyzing market impacts, and collaborating with legal teams.
* Helping grow the firm’s business by developing client content, enhancing reputation through publications, and supporting client relationships.
* Developing the legal skills of lawyers through internal training and legal support, acting as a resource for complex legal queries.
The role involves collaboration with Knowledge Lawyers across Germany, London, and Continental Europe, and integration into the wider Knowledge community within the firm.
Key responsibilities
* Monitor and disseminate legal developments, update knowledge products, and develop internal views on legal trends.
* Engage with lawyers at all levels to contribute to knowledge sharing and innovation, including using legal tech tools.
* Identify and pursue business opportunities through knowledge products and thought leadership, including writing blogs and client briefings.
* Deliver internal training and seminars to showcase practice expertise.
Key requirements
* Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background and successful experience in banking law, with broad knowledge of finance law.
* Fluent in German and English, with professional proficiency in both languages.
