We are looking for a 'Senior Director Government Affairs (f/m/d) – Geopolitics and International Relations', who will strengthen the geopolitical and international relations competences of Siemens AG. You will engage in geopolitical advisory, external advocacy, cooperation and business development, as well as operational excellence activities. You will focus on anticipating and navigating geopolitical and global technology policy trends, their respective risks and opportunities, while working collaboratively with teams at Siemens AG. You’ll make an impact by You analyze geopolitical developments and trends, assess their impact on Siemens AG, and advise Businesses, Functions, Regional Companies, taskforces on strategic decisions. You contribute with presentations, briefings, reports, scenarios, event debriefs, etc You support advocacy efforts of our executives by preparing briefings, developing positions, and writing speeches You represent Siemens’ interests by externally engaging in geopolitical events, policy fora, business associations, and discussions with policymakers. You engage in selected multilateral organizations with focus on cooperation initiatives and business development You bring your innovative ideas and experience to strengthen the Siemens team with a strong customer focus, collaboration and operational excellence mindset Furthermore You engage in global technology policy with expertise in advanced and emerging technologies You contribute to Siemens’ activities related to specific sectors / verticals, e.g. aerospace and defense You assess global conflicts using strategic foresight methods and scenarios techniques Based in Berlin or in Munich or Brussels, you work in close collaboration with the government affairs teams in Germany, European Union, and Government Affairs offices (e.g., USA, China, UAE) as well as with colleagues worldwide. You will report to the Head of Geopolitics and International Relations, who is based in Berlin. You excel in Education You have an excellent Master university degree in international relations, political sciences, economics and/or fields connected to advanced and emerging technologies in a geopolitical context (e.g. AI technological stack) Experience & Skills You have at least 5 years of experience in a relevant field e.g., multinational companies, governments, industry associations, international organizations, consulting firms, think tanks, etc. Expertise in business intelligence, strategy, project management, risk management, public affairs, engineering and other relevant fields would be a plus. You thoroughly understand the national and economic security interests of countries and you connect the dots on how their foreign policy priorities have an impact on international relations You bring professional experience at the intersection of technology and global geopolitical dynamics. You understand how emerging technologies—such as AI, data analytics, and digital platforms—shape international relations, regulatory environments, and strategic competition. You know how to translate this understanding into actionable recommendations for Siemens to navigate risks and opportunities in global policy, regulation, and innovation. You know how governments develop policies and instruments to strengthen their domestic resilience, as well as how they partner globally for diversification and de-risking You bring in your solid understanding of how geopolitics also influences economics, trade & investment, sanctions, as well as cooperation and competition among countries You have an established global external network Ways of working You have a global mindset and holistic approach to connect the dots in geopolitics and international relations and to anticipate how Siemens can mitigate risks and seize opportunities You can clearly differentiate what is highly relevant for Siemens from what is generally interesting You are comfortable engaging internally with top management in the HQs and in countries, as well as externally with political stakeholders, think tanks, consultancies, and associations. You are comfortable taking leading roles, as well supporting roles, for regular tasks and core projects within the Siemens team Integrity and compliance are cornerstones of your work ethic Being a team player describes you as a person You provide self-drive and project management skills to enhance initiatives, taskforces and concluding tasks, and are also interested in coaching others You are willing to travel to/within Germany, to Brussels and potentially other locations globally, to engage with external and internal stakeholders Languages You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and in German (from to the point & concrete messaging to inspiring speeches); other language skills would be a plus You are much more than your qualifications, and we believe in the potential of every single candidate.
