Job Overview
The Greenhouse Experiment Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of experiments within our Plant Perturbation Atlas project.
* Set up and scientifically supervise the greenhouse experiment to ensure optimal growth conditions for plant research.
* Collaborate with project leaders to plan and coordinate experiments, leveraging expertise in experimental design and data collection.
* Develop strong relationships with the Hohenheim Greenhouse Service Unit to facilitate technical implementation and data integration.
* Oversee data collection processes for the Plant Perturbation Atlas, guaranteeing accuracy and consistency in recorded data.
* Work closely with Data Stewards to ensure seamless central data collection and management.
* Supervise and mentor technical assistants supporting practical work in the greenhouse environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in biology, agricultural sciences, or a related natural science discipline.
* Demonstrated experience in experimental plant research, including planning and execution.
* In-depth knowledge of experimental design, data collection methods, and statistical analysis.
* Strong foundation in plant biology, physiology, and anatomy, with a focus on greenhouse environments.
* Proven track record of conducting experiments in greenhouses, with attention to detail and safety protocols.
* Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Leadership experience interacting with technical staff, with a focus on mentoring and development.
* Proficiency in both German and English languages, with ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
