The MSL's key objective is to impact clinical practice within the assigned territory, leading to improved patient outcomes. The MSL must demonstrate deep therapeutic expertise, understand territory and market influences, engage scientifically with Healthcare Providers (HCPs) and medical experts, manage and develop their territory, and execute all relevant activities in alignment with the medical strategic and tactical plan, while adhering to the Novartis Code of Conduct, Ethics/Compliance policies, and Working Practice documents. The MSL will inform and shape medical strategy by collecting impactful insights, understanding their strategic impact.This territory covers Minneapolis (MN, ND, SD). Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the territory border. Relocation is not available.Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Leveraging scientific expertise and market knowledge to establish and build professional relationships with HCPs (including community physicians, pharmacists, medical experts, nurses, and other healthcare professionals) and thought leaders in the area, aligned with medical strategy.Engaging with customers on emerging data discussions, clinical trial activities, patient journey barriers, market dynamics, unmet medical needs, pipeline discussions, disease state and product education, adverse event capture, and medical insights collection across the product lifecycle.Demonstrating strategic territory vision and planning medical engagements and key account identification, mapping, and execution in collaboration with internal colleagues. This includes identifying key stakeholders influencing the patient journey, partnering with academic centers, and involving HCPs when specific medical needs are identified, as well as collaborating internally to advance therapeutic goals.Supporting clinical trials, maintaining in-depth knowledge of therapeutic areas and Novartis compounds, adhering to policies and regulations, executing administrative responsibilities in CRM, and proactively developing professionally are also key responsibilities.The pay range at start is expected to be between $166,400 - $249,600 for Managers and $183,200 - $274,800 for ADs. Compensation may include bonuses, stock units, and benefits like medical coverage, 401(k), and paid time off. Final salary depends on experience, location, and other factors.Education and ExperienceGraduate degree in science or healthcare is required; doctoral degrees (MD, PhD, DNP, PharmD) are preferred.Experience levels:Manager: 0-3 years in a Field Medical role or 3-5 years in medical affairs or clinical research.AD: Minimum 3 years' experience in a Field Medical position or 5-7 years in medical/scientific roles.All levels require strong clinical knowledge, compliance with regulations, and ability to work within a diverse, inclusive environment. Candidates must live within or near the Minneapolis (MN, ND, SD) territory, with travel expectations of 60-70%.
