KG Organization Grid Technologies Business Unit Digital Grid Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As part of Grid Automation team You will design and develop Substation Automation Systems, creating customized SAS solutions for AIS and GIS High Voltage Substations accommodated to customer requirements .Your technical scope will include all SAS devices, software and systems ( SCADA) within the HV Substation infrastructure. You will support not only the tendering process and the order execution phase but also advise our customers on selecting the most efficient solutions. In presentations and customer meetings, you will showcase their advantages and discuss technical details. You will design the SAS system architecture for HV Substations, define the network topology, configure and parameterize SAS devices, and ensure full system functionality and integration with RPC and other substation systems ( cyber security system, firewall, auxiliary power supply system, etc.).You’ll take the lead in both basic and detailed SAS design — selecting the right equipment, shaping the layout of SAS cubicles, and ensuring seamless connectivity with all other HV Substation systems.The projects you will work on are primarily located in DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).How You’ll Make an Impact
7. Develop technical concepts and documentation for SAS, auxiliary and secondary systems in HV Substations.
8. Prepare technical content for offers and bids, including specifications and device selection aligned with customer requirements.
9. Design Substation automation architectures, covering RTUs, HMIs, servers, gateways, SCADA, and communication and also network structures.
10. Lead SAS engineering activities, including basic and detailed design, parametrization, programming, and creation of typical design documents.
11. Support project execution, providing technical supervision on site, coordinating with customers and internal teams, and driving continuous improvement.
12. Act as a technical interface to protection engineering, other departments and customers.
What You Bring
13. University degree in electrical engineering, automation or a similar field
14. Long term experience in working with Substation Automation Systems and devices for HV Substations applications including configuring and parametrizing/programming of HMI, SCADA, RTU, ethernet switches, etc.
15. Proven experience in the field of power generation transmission and distribution, in preparation of customer‑specific technical documentation and system designs
16. Deep knowledge of SAS systems and products ( WinCC, ZENON, ZEE600, SICAM PAS, SICAM A8000) or similar, and understanding of substation communication networks and protocols (IEC 101, IEC 104, IEC 61850)
17. Experience in configuration tools for SAS, visualisation systems and software
18. Excellent English and good German language skills along with presentation skills enabling effective communication with customers in DACH region.
