Linux Kernel Development Expert
We are seeking a talented Linux kernel development expert to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the Linux kernel for IBM Z / IBM LinuxOne, including device drivers, libraries, tools, compilers, debuggers, virtualization (KVM) and test automation (CI/CD).
Your responsibilities will include design and specifications for new enhancements, coding (including test automation), problem determination and bug fixing, performance analysis & fixing, contributing your code to open source community repositories, and solving client problems.
This role offers diverse tasks, ranging from specific ones, like improving debugging of KVM guests on Linux on Z, to more open-ended ones, like working together with compiler engineers to enhance the overall debugging experience on Linux on Z.
Requirements
* Low-level programming expertise: 3+ years of experience in low-level/assembler development or developing one of crash, GDB, or LLDB
* C/C++ skills: Expert skills in C and C++
* Source code management: Expert skills in source code repository systems (e.g., git)
* Language proficiency: Fluent English
* Motivation: You are highly motivated
Preferred Qualifications
1. Open Source contributions: Contributions to Open Source projects or Open Source maintainer status
2. Linux kernel experience: Experience in Linux kernel development
3. Compiler experience: Experience in compiler, assembler, or linker development
4. Assembly language skills: Skills in non-x86 assembly- Skills in IBM Z architecture (
