Hauptaufgaben
Serves as senior journeyman electrician with full responsibility for layout, planning and performance of assignments. Works alone or is supported by other employees applying the full range of skills and techniques in installing, maintaining, controlling and repairing electrical and electronic equipment, components, wiring systems, fixtures, and controls, in compliance with practices and standards established in the job profile of the vocation. Work is performed in workshops, administrative buildings, warehouses and storage areas under observance of prescribed safety rules. Uses a variety of material and tools in accomplishing assignments. Plans and lays out work and prepares detailed drawings and sketches when deviations from initial plans are necessary, or to show sections of plans in more detail. Reads and interprets building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals. Based on work to be performed, determines amount, types and measurements of needed material; selects material, supplies and tools needed and obtains same from appropriate sources. Inspects and ensures enforcement of safety codes and calculates power requirements. Installs, modifies, repairs, troubleshoots and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls and equipment, such as computers, air-conditioning plants, refrigeration plants, compressors, machines of all kinds, intercoms, heating appliances, lighting systems, etc. Performs all electrical installations in newly built offices, warehouses, work shops and other buildings, i.e., secondary distribution lines and circuits used to supply a wide range of voltage, amperage, phase and frequency requirements, distribution panels, switchgears, power and control circuits, lighting systems, and emergency egress & lighting systems. Determines, arranges, places, and routes distribution panels, boxes, circuits, fittings, connections, and controls. Determines type, size and arrangement of wiring, conduit, fixtures, transformers, generators and other electrical devices. and installs them. As required, fabricates components. During major or new installations, renders technical advice and guidance to personnel in lower grades and performs on-the-job training. Performs meter readings on a regular basis, in order to support O&M utilities branch.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
A4-06:
Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent. The applicant must be able to perform the duties independently.
Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung in der entsprechenden Gewerbegruppe mit einer Ausbildungsdauer von mindestens 30 Monaten, PLUS 2 Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Lohngruppe 5 oder in, vom Schwierigkeitsgrad vergleichbaren Taetigkeiten, welche selbstaendig ausgeuebt wurden.
OR/ODER
8 years of specialized experience of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.

• Es handelt sich um eine unbefristete Vollzeitstelle (38.5 Std. /Woche). / This is a perm. full-time position (38.5 hrs /week).
• Der Stelleninhaber dieser Position ist verpflichtet gelegentlich Dienstreisen durchzuführen. / The incumbent of this position is occasionally required to perform TDY (Temporary Duty Travel).
• Arbeiten an Wochenenden, Feiertagen und Sonntagen sowie Schichtarbeit erforderlich. / Working on weekends, holidays and sundays as well as shift work required.
• Rufbereitschaft erforderlich. / On-Call duty required.
• Heben und Tragen bis zu 18 kg erforderlich. / Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
