Head of Drug Product Manufacturing
The Opportunity
We are partnering with an exciting CDMO based in Berlin to find a Head of Drug Product Manufacturing to join their growing leadership team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to step outside a large corporate environment and take ownership of a critical function at a company where their expertise will directly shape the future of the pipeline.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead and develop a team of 5–10 professionals and take full ownership of all drug product manufacturing operations. You will be instrumental in building and scaling the DP manufacturing function as the company advances its pipeline towards and through clinical development.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all drug product manufacturing activities, ensuring quality, compliance, and operational excellence
* Own and develop the DP manufacturing strategy in alignment with broader corporate goals
* Oversee sterile manufacturing and fill-finish operations from development through to clinical supply
* Build and mentor a high-performing manufacturing team
* Drive cross-functional collaboration with CMC, quality, regulatory and supply chain teams
* Manage external CMO/CDMO relationships where applicable
* Contribute as a member of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO
What We're Looking For
* Significant experience in drug product manufacturing within biologics, with deep knowledge of sterile manufacturing and fill-finish processes
* Prior leadership experience managing teams in a GMP-regulated environment
* Background in a CDMO, large pharma or biotech setting.
* Strong understanding of regulatory requirements across key markets (EMA/FDA)
* Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing company where you can make a real difference
* Fluency in English essential; German advantageous
* Based in or willing to relocate to the Berlin area
