Position Overview
Morgan Latif has been exclusively retained by a profitable, mid-sized industrial manufacturing organisation undergoing a strategic carve‑out to appoint a Business Unit President for a confidential mandate.
This role represents a unique opportunity to lead an independent business at a pivotal moment in its development. Reporting directly to group-level executive leadership, the successful candidate will assume full responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of the company, with a clear mandate to drive growth, diversification, and value creation.
Role Overview
The Business Unit President will carry full P&L responsibility and shape the organisation’s future positioning. The focus will be on accelerating growth beyond a traditionally automotive-driven portfolio, strengthening system and solution competence, and building a scalable, high-performance organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and execute a forward-looking corporate strategy to enable sustainable and profitable growth
* Drive diversification into non-automotive and future-oriented industrial markets
* Strengthen the organisation’s value proposition through higher value‑add, system competence, and integrated solutions
* Lead and develop all key functions including Sales, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Finance, HR, and IT
* Expand and professionalise key account management and strategic partnerships
* Optimise sourcing strategies and develop a robust, international supplier network
* Implement lean structures, KPI-driven management systems, and operational excellence initiatives
* Build a strong leadership team and foster an open, performance-oriented company culture
* Ensure robust financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and risk governance
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven senior leadership experience as Managing Director, CEO, General Manager, or equivalent with full P&L responsibility
* Strong background in manufacturing and B2B industrial environments
* Experience in technical sales, key account management, and procurement leadership
* Solid understanding of casting, forged components, stainless steel, or aluminum manufacturing is advantageous
* Demonstrated success in business transformation, growth initiatives, and portfolio diversification
* Entrepreneurial, hands‑on leadership style with strong execution capability
* Authentic people leader with the ability to inspire trust and align teams behind a clear vision
* International experience and intercultural competence
* Fluent in German and English
