Lead the craft. Stay close to the work. Build something that lasts and matters. Most senior product roles ask you to choose - stay close to the work, or step into leadership. This one asks you to do both. As Head of Product at Nortal Germany, you'll split your time three ways: leading the product and PO capability, driving product thinking in bids and proposals through our Solutions Studio, and contributing directly to client delivery. About 30% each, but the balance shifts based on the business needs. No part of it disappears. This is a player-coach role on the management team. You'll set the direction for how product management evolves at Nortal Germany - fostering technical curiosity, advancing product thinking, and developing a team that collaboratively integrates AI into our work. You'll earn the room to do that by delivering something visible, early. What you'll do Lead the product and PO capability Own the vision and strategy for product management at Nortal Germany. Build best practices, run knowledge-sharing formats - PO meet-ups, communities of practice, playbooks. Manage your direct reports through real development conversations, not just annual reviews. Drive the evolution of the practice toward a more technically engaged, AI aware way of working –helping your team embed AI to their craft and everyday working. Leading that shift with your team, not imposing it on them. Collaborate with the Solutions Studio Bring coherent product thinking to bids, tenders, and proposals. Make sure what goes in front of a client reflects one integrated solution. Join sales conversations, build client relationships, and help shape how Nortal positions product management in the German market. Provide leadership on critical client engagements Step in on critical engagements where your seniority and product judgement can make the difference. Not as an extra pair of hands, as the person who steadies the situation, raises the quality of the work, and helps your Capability Leads navigate what they haven’t faced before Be the person your Capability Leads turn to when a project needs steadying. What you bring 5 years in product management or product ownership - end-to-end delivery, things that actually shipped Background in project-based IT consulting or systems integration - you know what it means to deliver in a billable, multi-client environment Experience contributing to bids and proposals - not just your section, but the shape of the whole solution Proven people leadership - development plans, difficult conversations, helping someone actually grow A clear point of view on what good product management looks like and how to move a team toward it Genuine curiosity about what AI is changing in product and PO work - not as a talking point, as something you're actively navigating German C1 and professional English - you run workshops and manage client relationships entirely in German Strong communication and influencing skills across engineers, clients, and leadership teams Who you are You became a product practitioner because you wanted to be close to the reason things get built. You care about what gets shipped and why - not just how the process ran. After years of doing this work well, you’ve started to notice that the quality of product management around you matters as much as your own. And right now, you’re paying close attention to what AI is doing to this craft - because you can see it’s not a tool upgrade, it’s a shift in how products get conceived, built, and owned. You know how to walk into a client conversation and shape it, not just respond to it. You ask the questions that reframe what they thought they needed. You lead them toward the right outcome, and you leave the room with trust intact. You don’t confuse output with outcome, and you hold others to the same standard, gently but consistently. And somewhere along the way, you’ve come to care genuinely about what digital transformation means for Germany for its public institutions, its healthcare system, and the people who depend on them. Not as a talking point. As a real reason to keep showing up. Why Nortal We're 2,700 experts across 30 offices, delivering transformation for governments, Fortune 500 companies, and healthcare systems across four continents.
