Bernadette, sister restaurant to Settler, is a market-driven restaurant in downtown Salem led by Executive Chef Aaron Chambers. Our restaurants focus on thoughtful cuisine, a strong wine and beverage program, and a service style that is polished but welcoming.
We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to serve as the operational leader. This role is central to maintaining standards, supporting the team, and ensuring the restaurant operates safely and professionally.
The Role
The AGM will act as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts, overseeing service execution, supervising staff, and taking full responsibility for closing the restaurant. This position requires maturity, sound judgment, and the ability to lead with calm authority.
You will work closely with ownership and senior team members to maintain consistency across service, operations, and guest experience.
Responsibilities
1. Lead front-of-house operations during service
2. Serve as the responsible manager in the building
3. Close the restaurant and secure the facility nightly
4. Ensure adherence to service standards and policies
5. Support team performance and accountability
6. Address guest concerns professionally and decisively
7. Maintain compliance with alcohol service and safety protocols
8. Document and communicate operational issues
9. Assist with scheduling, inventory oversight, and shift coordination
Qualifications
10. Minimum 3–5 years of restaurant management experience
11. Strong leadership presence and decision-making skills
12. High level of professionalism and integrity
13. Comfortable enforcing standards and policies
14. Experience in upscale or chef-driven restaurants preferred
15. Familiarity with liquor regulations a plus
Schedule & Compensation
16. Full-time salaried position
17. Evenings and weekends required
18. Salary commensurate with experience ($70K–$85K range)
