Role Overview
The Sales Engineer (m/f/d) acts as the technical backbone of the Sales organization, bridging the gap between customer requirements and engineering capabilities. This role supports the sales cycle with technical expertise, prepares customer‑specific product configurations, and ensures that proposed solutions meet regulatory, installation, and commercial requirements — including feasibility checks based on LOPA (Layout of Passenger Accommodation) investigations.
Ideal candidates are confident communicators with a passion for aviation engineering, a structured working style, and the ability to translate complex topics into clear customer value.
Your responsibilities
* Serve as the technical point of contact for airline customers during the sales process.
* Conduct LOPA investigations and assess seat integration feasibility based on aircraft layout, interfaces, and certification constraints.
* Translate customer needs into technically feasible seating configurations and option packages.
* Prepare technical proposals, product specifications, weight and dimension data, and configuration documentation.
* Support commercial teams during bids, RFPs, and contract negotiations with technical input.
* Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Management, Certification, and Production.
* Conduct product presentations, technical workshops, and customer reviews.
* Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of ZIM products, aviation standards, and installation guidelines.
* Participate in industry events and customer visits as required.
Your skills
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Ideally 2–5 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, cabin integration, or a similar technical role within aerospace or comparable industries.
* Understanding of aircraft cabin layouts, LOPA principles, and seat‑to‑aircraft integration is a strong advantage.
* Analytical and structured approach with strong technical problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
* Familiarity with CAD data, engineering drawings, and certification‑related documents.
* Fluent in English; German is an advantage.
* Willingness to travel internationally.
